Why a placement test comes before enrolment, and what A1 to C2 mean

A placement test puts you in the class where you will learn the most, instead of the one you guessed. Learners usually misjudge their own level — some rate themselves too low and repeat what they know, others too high and fall behind in the first weeks. The institute therefore enrols after the placement test, not on a self-chosen level. What A1 to C2 mean The six levels come from the Council of Europe's Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR): A1 and A2 are a basic user, B1 and B2 an independent user, C1 and C2 a proficient user. The institute divides each level into smaller sub-levels so that a class moves at one pace. (Source: Council of Europe, CEFR and its 2020 Companion Volume.) What to do next See the list of courses , then ask for a placement test . For a specific exam goal, start with the IELTS or General English page.
